Careers Consent Letter and Form – Year 10

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you well and that you have not been too adversely affected by the recent weather.

We are pleased to inform you of an exciting and valuable careers opportunity for our Year 10 pupils. On Thursday 12th February, students have been invited to attend a Careers Fair at Junction 24, which will provide them with the opportunity to explore a wide range of future pathways, including further education, apprenticeships, training providers and potential employers.

This visit forms an important part of our careers education programme and is designed to help pupils make informed decisions about their next steps beyond school. Engaging directly with employers and college representatives allows students to better understand the skills, qualifications and personal attributes required for different careers, helping them to link their learning in school to real-world opportunities.

The trip will take place during the morning only and there will be no disruption to the school day from a parental perspective, as well as no cost for families. Pupils will leave school shortly after 9:00am and return by approximately 11:00am. As this event will be part of the school day pupils will be expected in school uniform.

During the visit, pupils will be encouraged to independently explore the careers fair, ask questions, and gather information that may support future decisions around GCSE options, post-16 education, apprenticeships, and work experience placements. While staff will be present throughout, pupils will be given some independence to develop confidence, communication skills and professionalism — all essential employability skills.

As this is an off-site visit representing the school, behaviour expectations will be exceptionally high. Pupils must demonstrate maturity, responsibility and respect at all times, including when lining up, travelling, and engaging with external providers. Any pupil unable to meet these expectations will not be permitted to attend the visit
If you would like your child to take part, please follow the link to complete the attached consent form, ensuring that we have up-to-date emergency contact details.

We strongly believe this visit will be an eye-opening experience for pupils and a key step in helping them begin to shape their future aspirations and career goals.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding the visit, please do not hesitate to contact me at Jonathan.Roberts@clf.uk.

Yours sincerely,
Mr J. Roberts
